摘要(英) One-on-one online English tutoring provides equal educational opportunities for students living in remote areas. This study examined the effects of learning and instruction, teaching satisfaction, learning satisfaction, learning attitudes, and learning outcomes of e-tutees receiving online English tutoring. A total of ten e-tutees, ten e-tutors and on-site supervisors participated in the study. Research data were collected by conducting three questionnaires (teaching satisfaction, learning satisfaction, learning attitudes) and collecting on-site supervisor diaries, e-tutors’ teaching diaries, English tests as well as teaching videos. Quantitative and qualitative research was used to analyze the data. The study found that the e-tutees were satisfied with their one-on-one online English tutoring and that they performed well on online English tests. Evaluations made by e-tutors show their e-tutees learning attitudes were positive. In addition, e-tutors indicated their teaching satisfaction were positive, too. Online English distance education not only overcomes the limitations of space and time but also facilitates e-tutees’ learning and development. In the future, it is worth investigating how to appropriately match e-tutors and e-tutees.
