摘要(英) Business process agility is a critical ability for firms to make firms adjust their processes to react the rapid market changes. Firms with business process agility can be more dynamic to modify their business processes such as supply chain management (SCM), product lifecycle management (PLM), and customer relationship management (CRM). In the current environment, firms use information technology (IT) to manage various business processes so IT department have to develop and deploy IT applications quickly so as to support the business processes. However, it is an important issue for IT managers to provide a good IT infrastructure to make IT specialists develop and deploy IT applications smoothly.
In this study, we believe IT managers can improve IT infrastructure quality through deploying cloud computing and enhancing IT management capability. Thus, we propose a conceptual model in which the effect of cloud computing and IT management on business process agility are mediated by IT infrastructure quality and IT application orchestration capability. We collected survey data from Top 1337 Taiwanese manufacturing firms to test our hypotheses. This study provides a systematic perspective for understanding how to obtain business process agility through information technologies.
