Abstract:	1991年6月15日,菲律賓的Pinatubo火山爆發受到科學家廣泛的注意,因其強度為自有衛星觀測以來最大的一次.南中國海正緊鄰於該火山污染源,而排放的火山物質中有顯著的部分沈降於其中.火山爆發所導致的擾動而產生的效應已有研究報告,火山灰的沈降可產生區域性污染,而區域氣候亦可能產生某種程度的改變.這項計畫提案將用Pinatubo火山噴出的氣溶膠作為追蹤劑,調查其污染物北向傳送及對東南亞背景大氣的衝擊.美國太空總署SAGE□的衛星資料將被應用來推算上述氣溶膠的特性.此外,對台灣的衝擊也將做詳盡的探討.本計畫的終極目的不僅在增進我們對大自然的擾動所導致的環境衝擊的瞭解,亦估算Pinatubo氣溶膠對台灣地區的沈降方程.研究期間：8202 ~ 8301
