    Abstract: 在研究X 光雙星方面,它的時變現象提供了我們大量的資訊對這一類的天體的特性,諸如緻密天體、吸積盤與進密雙星的性質,做更進一步的研究。其光變型態可能是週期性,準週期性甚至是非週期性。而光變的時間尺度,從小於一毫秒至數千日,相差高達12 個數量級。不同時間尺度的時變現象可以讓我們研究雙星系統不同的部份,如毫秒及的快速光變一般認為反映了在緻密天體附近的一些現象,這提供了我們研究緻密天體的有利工具。另一方面而言,長期的光變現象有可能是吸積盤進動所造成。我們提出對X 光雙星各種時間尺度的光變之研究計畫,對於長期的光變,我們預計使用泛星計畫(Pan-STARRS)巡天所觀測到的可見光之光變曲線,結合具有長期監測能力的X 光望遠鏡(如RXTE/ASM, SWIFT 與MAXI)觀測到的X 光光變曲線,做同步多波段的研究。此外,我們也將利用在鹿林天文台的觀測設備,對軌道與超駝峰 (superhump)光變作進一步的研究。在快速光變方面,我們除了持續對吸積型態之毫秒脈衝星之性質做更深入的瞭解外,也將我們的研究延伸之準週期震盪現象。 Variability of X-ray binaries provides us fruitful information to understand the properties of these sources, including the nature of compact object, accretion disk and close binary’s properties. The variability can be periodic, quasi-periodic or even aperiodic with time scale less than millisecond to thousands of days, about 12 order of magnitudes’ difference. Various time scales’ modulations allow us to study different parts of a binary system. For example, millisecond time scale variations are believed owing to the events from the region near the compact object, which give us opportunities to learn the compact object’s properties. On the other hand, some of long-term modulations may be caused by the accretion disk procession. We propose to study on the variability of X-ray binaries in various time scales. For the long-term variations, we will combine the optical light curves from Pan-STARRS survey and the X-ray light curves from monitoring X-ray telescopes, like RXTE/ASM, SWIFT or MAXI to achieve quasi-simultaneous multi-waveband study of the long-term modulations of X-ray binaries. On the other hand, the binaries’ orbital and superhump variations may be observed with facilities at Lulin Observatory with higher time resolution. For the fast variability in Low Mass X-ray Binaries (LMXBs), in addition to continue investigating on the properties of accreting binaries, we also plan to extend our research to Quasi-Periodic Oscillation (QPO). 研究期間:9808 ~ 9907
