    Abstract: This work studied transient mass transfer from a vertical flat plate with uniform concentration to a steady laminar flow. The flow is driven essentially by the thermal buoyancy arising from temperature difference between the plate and ambient fluid. By using an efficient solution method, precise numerical results have been obtained over the whole transient period including unsteady diffusion and steady convection. All the results are presented for aqueous solutions of Pr = 7 and 1 less than or equal to Le less than or equal to 500. Very accurate correlation equation of mass transfer rate was developed for application convenience.
