    Abstract: An improved MnO2 cathode has been evaluated. It was found that the high porosity and the pore-size distribution (macropores with a diameter >2000 angstrom representing >25% of the total pore volume) of the electrode are two determinant factors in performing a high (80%) utilization of the Li/MnO2 at high discharge rate.
