The new dispersion relation for acoustic wave propagation in bubbly media introduced by C. Feuillade [J. Acoust. Sec. Am. 99, 3412-3430 (1996)] is rederived from a self-consistent approach, and examined through numerical examples. A few concerns are raised with regard to the validity of the assumptions that lead to the new dispersion relation. (C) 1997 Acoustical Society of America.
