    Abstract: "中華衛星一號"之日地物理酬載儀器"電離層電漿及電動效應儀器"(IPEI)包括四個感應器及電子組件。這四個感應器分別為離子流量儀(IT)水平及垂直面離子漂移向量儀(HDM及VDM),以及離子電位阻滯分析儀(RPA)。這四個感應器將利用中華衛星一號之特殊低傾斜角軌道,對中低緯度電離層之大小尺度結構與特性的研究提供突破性探測資料。IPEI的科學目的有四︰ 1.對中、低緯度之電離層隨緯度、經度以及季節性的變化作有系統的研究。研究結果將可幫助了解電離層—磁層—太陽風的交互作用。這對現階段模擬及了解「太空氣象」(space weather) 的研究有重大助益。 2.以最新IPEI高解析資料,深入探討低緯度電離層F—層不規體的變化及能量的傳遞。電離層F—層不規體的變化對太空通訊有重大的影響。其中訊號的閃爍(scintillation) 現象就是因此而產生的。研究閃爍現象及F—層不規體變化之關係,對通訊品質之提昇將有一定的貢獻。 3.研究高緯度極區電離層與中、低緯度電離層之交互作用。這對了解「太空氣象」也是大有幫助。 4.與將要發射的國際太陽大地研究計畫(International Solar Terrestrial Program, ISTP)之人造衛星系列相輔相成,共同研究以提高我國在科學研究的國際地位。國立中央大學、美國德州大學達拉斯分校(UTD)以及國科會太空計畫室將共同主持此計畫中儀器之操作及科學之研究。中大為此計畫之主持人,並與UTD共同負責此次酬載儀器之科學研究及論文成果發表。中大在本計畫執行時期參與的層次分為兩段。在酬載儀器硬體在太空中之運作,並研發資料分析之軟體程式,擬定科學觀測方案,提供中華衛星一號之太空電漿模式,並完成IPEI資料研究報告書。在後續計畫中,中大負責IPEI酬載在衛星上的正常運作,收集原始資料並加以驗證處理及分發。中大並執行IPEI科學資料之推廣及運用等工作。中大將負責資料分發中心(SDDC)的運作,組成IPEI之科學使用群,負責處理高階層之IPEI資料以提供科學使用群使用。中大與UTD負責IPEI資料之驗證及IPEI與國外地面雷達站,國外人造衛星共同觀測方案之執行。並針對ROCSAT-1/IPEI觀測的科學現象,在國內外科學月刊撰文發表成果。 The "ROCSAT-1" scientific payload, Ionospheric Plasma and Electrodynamics Instrument (IPEI) is designed to study the solar-terrestrial physics. The IPEI instrument consists of four sensors and related electronics packages. The four sensors are Ion Trap (IT), Horizontal Drift Meter (HDM), Vertical Drift Meter (VDM), and Retarded Potential Analyzer (RPA). Taking advantage of 600 km circular and 35?HX inclination orbit of ROCSAT-1 , the scientific goals of IPEI are: 1. To conduct a systematic examination of the longitudinal and seasonal variations of ionospheric plasma and electrodynamics at low and middle latitudes.2. To advance our understanding of low-latitude and middle-latitude ionosphere coupling (in particular the transition phenomena).3. To further understand the small-scale electrodynamics in the ionospheric regions of Equatorial Anomaly and Plasma Bubbles in Equatorial Spread F (ESF) events from IPEI high resolution data.4. To participate international ISTP program to study the electrodynamics of the thermosphere-ionosphere-mesosphere system.IPEI is a joint project between National Central University (NCU) and the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD), and is closely monitored by National Space Program Office of National Science Council (NSC). NCU is the principal investigator institution of the project and is responsible for conducting the scientific mission of the project in collaboration with UTD. As the Principal Investigator of IPEI project, NCU is in charge of the IPEI payload operations, carrying out scientific investigation of mid- and low-latitude ionospheric phenomena with IPEI data, processing IPEI data in IPEI Science Data Distribution Center (IPEI/SDDC) and carry out data quality control and validation processes, and distributing IPEI data to educational and research institutions in ROC and abroad. The IPEI-SDDC scientific personals are also responsible for publishing IPEI science discoveries in scientific journals. 研究期間:9201 ~ 9212
