本論文主要是探討文學小說改編成電視劇時所遭遇到的媒介轉換問題，而以《後山日先照》做為一個成功的改編範例來研究。小說改編成電視劇必須經過兩個階段，第一個階段是從「原著到劇本」，必然涉及的問題包含：主題的確立、素材的提煉、戲劇結構的調整、結構技巧的運用、人物的設置和塑造以及情節的改編。第二個階段是從「劇本到影片」的影視化處理，主要針對的是畫面中所蘊含的「文學性」做關注，而以意象的使用如何形成「隱喻和象徵」的意涵做為分析論述的重點，這亦是電視劇《後山日先照》不同於原著表現方式而超越原著的改編創造。其次，全劇洋溢著濃厚的台灣民俗情味，灌注著傳統中優美的思想精神，亦是本劇超越原著的改編成就之一。成功的改編，就是要求從文學出發，而又能超越文學本身成為獨立生命的藝術作品，拍出一部讓讀過小說的人仍然覺得精采，並讓沒有讀過小說的人產生一種全新感受的影片，就是一種成功的改編。 This theme mainly inquires the medium converting problem from transcribing a literary novel into a soap opera. The article would take“Hou-Shan-Jih-Hsien-Chao”as a good example of transcribtion to discuss. It is necessary to go through two steps to convert a literary novel into a soap opera. The first step is from the original work to the script. This stage would certainly have involved problems：establishing the subject，extracting the material，adjusting the composition，characterization and converting the plot. The second steps is the video manipulation from the script to the film. This stage would mainly focus on the literature which is implicated by the frame ，and it uses metaphor and symbolization to be the point of analysing and expounding. This is also the creation of “Hou-Shan-Jih-Hsien-Chao”that expressed differently from the original work and transcended it to revise. Next，the whole play brims with strong Taiwan folk atmosphere and pours in traditional and beautiful vitality.This is also one of the achievements that“Hou-Shan-Jih-Hsien-Chao”transcended the original work to revise. A successful transcribtion，an inclepent art work，should be founded on the literature and also surpass the literature itself；then，a successful transcribtion is to produce the film that make people who have read its original novel still feel wonderful and let people who haven`t read it have a completely new experience.
