本研究利用有機反應,製備具磺酸基團及帶長鏈之馬來醯亞胺 (MI) 單體,之後藉由自由基聚合而得具有質子傳導性質之 SPMI 高分子。此單體亦可與雙馬來醯亞胺 (BMI) 進行共聚成膜,可得一系列具交聯結構之高分子膜材,成功的降低了高濕度下水膨潤與尺寸變化率過高的情況,並在操作溫度 25 oC 下可得平均 10 -2 S/cm 的傳導度,80 oC 熱水中可得平均 0.06 S/cm 的傳導度因此具有成為新型燃料電池之質子交換膜的潛力。 A series of sulfonated polymaleimide were synthesized by free radical polymerization and atom transfer radical polymerization reaction. Via crosslinking, the dimensional stability of the membrane was effectively improved, without losing their high thermal, oxidative, and hydrolytic stability. The membranes exhibited high conductivity of 0.06 S/cm at 80 oC、100 % RH, and 10-2 S/cm at 25 oC、100 % RH. Particularly, one membrane exhibited low swelling ratio (17 % deformation) at 80 oC、100 % RH. The results exhibited these new ionomer membranes are potential new type proton exchange membranes in fuel cell application.
