台灣東北部地區在秋冬季東北季風及夏季數種颱風路徑情況下,常有強降水事件的發生,導致基隆河暴漲,蘭陽平原水患。本年的計畫則擬於此類天氣現象,以移動式偏極化/都卜勒雷達 TEAM-R在東北部地區觀測降水系統,包括雨滴粒徑特性、都卜勒風場及雲物理特徵。並與五分山雷達觀測之降水估計比較,分析地形是否造成降水回波垂直結構的差異,以及雨滴粒徑分布的差異對降水估計的影響,評估雙偏極化雷達在北部東北部地區精密降水估計的正確性。針對基隆河上游集水區及宜蘭地區低於五分山雷達掃描範圍的區域,測試加強雷達觀測對基隆河流量及宜蘭地區降水預報改善之可行性。並在觀測期間測試衛星通訊系統,本計畫目的主要為評估台灣東北地區氣象雷達加強觀測之效益。 The northeast corner of Taiwan island including the upstream of the winding Keelung river basin catchment and the Ilan plain often has very high rain accumulation in autumn season. Although the Wufansan Doppler radar is located in the north of this area, however due to the high altitude of radar site( 770m), it is difficult to observe the possibly enhanced topographic rain under 1000m altitude. As for the Ilan plain, both Wufasan and Hwalien radars are blocked by the mountains. For further understanding of the rainfall characteristics in the northeast corner, a mobile polarimetric radar will be the main tool to study the precipitation systems. The heavy rain induced by the autumn coupled circulation between northeast monsoon and the outer circulation from typhoon or low pressure system will be studied. The evaluation of the radar observation at different sites will also be conducted. The polarimetric rainfall algorithms will be verified with the rain guage network. This project will also deploy the mobile TEAM radar to the Wufansan site to conduct parallel dual wavelength observation and verify the dual wavelength quantitative precipitation estimate feasibility. In order to get important weather information for the quantitative precipitation estimate of heavy rain system, weather radar is one of the most important instrumentation.
