運用福衛三號(FORMOSAT-3/COSMIC)衛星在2006 年8 月至今的觀測資料,我們將研究出赤道大氣克耳文波(Kelvin wave)於低層平流層之結構與傳播方向,以及印度地區間熱帶輻合區(intertropical convergence zone,簡稱ITCZ)南北移動的情形。在大氣克耳文波方面,由溫度變動值的變化我們將可以看到,在水平方向上,赤道大氣克耳文波相位有隨時間傳播的現象,並將計算其相速度,集中研究於高度19 公里處,波數為一以及二的周期及相關波動特性;在垂直方向上,赤道大氣克耳文波相位結構亦將隨高度傾斜,相位隨時間傳播,並可計算其相速度及垂直波長在不同年度之變化。在ITCZ 方面,由福衛三號衛星資料將演算出的水汽含量隨時間在緯度位置上呈現的變化。配合地面降水量及長波輻射資料對應,水汽含量資料亦將應用於與ITCZ 隨時間在緯度位置變化的特性相比較。 Structure and propagation of equatorial atmospheric Kelvin waves and the latitudinal migration of intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) from August 2006 are observed using FORMOSAT-3/COSMIC data. Zonal Kelvin wave derived from temperature fluctuations at 19 km characterize eastward phase propagation with the phase speed and the wave periods will be studied for both zonal wave number 1 and 8-12 days for wave number 2. The vertical structure of Kelvin wave tilts with height between 18-30 km, the phase propagates downward with the phase speed, and vertical wavelengths in different years will be calculated. Integrated water vapor derived from COSMIC data will be utilized to show the variation in time-latitude section.
