He was graduated at National Central University of Nanjing majoring in physics, and once left for Cambridge University to study superconductivity at liquid helium temperatures. Afterwards, Li had been the president of the Council for U.S. Aid(CUSA), vice chairman of the Council of International Economic Cooperation(CIECD), Finance Minister and Minister of State, carried out remarkable success and dedication. In 1976, an applied science and technology development committee had been set up under the cabinet of Li, and the first national science and technology congress was called early in1977. This overall development program supported the R&D activities and higher education in the strategic areas, moving Taiwan’s traditional industry toward high-tech business. Li thus has been honored The Father of Technology of Taiwan. Li’s great contribution and success on Taiwan’s economy development has brought him the indelibly name in the history.
