在國家太空中心與中山科學研究院的主導與協助下，國立中央大學負責的離子探測儀搭載在台灣探空五號，順利在 2006 年 1 月 18 日傍晚升空。在上升的過程中，離子捕獲計在高度 88 到 112 公里處，偵測到明顯的飽和離子流量。最高電流量出現在 93 公里高，約 0.1 μA。然而在此高度附近，離子捕獲計第一張篩網（浮動電位網）的電位出現異常現象，其電位讀數高達負十伏特。我們相信，在鼻錐罩開啟後，離子捕獲計的第一張篩網與第三張篩網（壓制網）成短路。而後其篩網成開路，離子捕獲計第一張篩網的電壓讀數恢復正常。此異常現象可能造成過多的離子流入收集器，使得正確地計算離子密度剖面變得困難。在此研究計畫中，我們將利用中大太空酬載實驗室的太空電漿模擬艙，進行實驗室模擬。並且使用長期發展的電腦模式，來評估離子收集量。透過實驗室模擬與電腦模式的分析，希望可回推並解出正確的 E 層電漿密度剖面。以確定本次飛試實驗中是否存在明顯的 E 層電漿密度不規則體。 An ion probe onboard Taiwan’s Sounding Rocket V was launched to measure the ionospheric plasma irregularities on 18 January 2006. Remarkable ion currents were detected by the ion trap between 88 and 112 km altitude at the up-leg with the highest current level around 0.1 μA at 93 km. However, voltage reading (VG1) from the first grid (G1) of the ion trap indicated an abnormal high negative voltage appearing at the similar altitude range. It is believed the G1 was shorted with a suppressor after fairing was open. Later the short circuit was disappeared and the VG1 became normal. Such an anomaly in the VG1 was possible to drag more ions into the collector and resulted in a difficulty to derive an ion concentration profile. In this proposal, both laboratory simulation and computer modeling will be performed to evaluate the current collection. As last the plasma density profile around the E region can be resolved to verify if a significant sporadic-E layer existed. 研究期間：10008 ~ 10107
