一、銫原子基態同調波函數之建立(by CW laser) 我們前三年的國科會計畫執行期間,利用我們獨特的光梳雷射建立銫原子基態同調波函數 (comb-CPT)。為目前文獻所知,首度探討光梳雷射造成電磁誘發透明的實驗。這個實驗解析出破歷史記錄的狹窄躍遷線寬(5 Hz)!我們實驗室獨立把理論基礎建立起來。然而,在過去的實驗中,最讓我們自己,也同時讓PRL 審稿人迷惑的是,comb-CPT 的中心頻率居然不受 pressure shift 的影響。這對新一代光鐘與銫原子鐘的連結是好消息,但背後的物理意義我們並不了解。有可能是 comb-CPT 獨有的現象,也有可能是我們製作的銫原子氣室在攝氏一百度時有奇異的特性。因此我們需要接著,在同一個銫原子氣室下,發展CW-CPT。二、 銫原子雙光子躍遷的絕對頻率與手提式光頻率梳的研發一部份的研究,帶來手提式光梳雷射的應用—如果銫原子決雙光子躍遷之絕對頻率已量測,以及利用光纖雷射為主幫浦鈦藍寶石雷射可以成功。這將對光梳雷射的應用,有革命性的貢獻。三、多重外差光梳光譜(multi-hetrodyne comb laser spectroscopy)之嘗試如果二部份進行順利,我們將嘗試在高解析,寬頻與快速解析下的光梳光譜應用。目標是將二部份研發之手提式光梳雷射帶到原分所許艷珠老師實驗室,進行C3光譜之研究。這是 dual comb spectroscopy 在 UV 波段的應用,它的成功,對於光梳雷射在化學的應用是一大鼓舞,尤其C3 是 radical molecule,而許艷珠老師實驗室是全世界少數能製造這個簡單碳鏈的專家。在這之前,也就是這個計畫要做的:將嘗試解析碘分子 (500 nm ~ 600 nm)、 銫原子 (350 nm ~ 890 nm)及氦原子 (471 nm~1083 nm)光譜。 I. The development of cesium atom ground-state coherence We have, by using our unique comb laser, successfully induced cesium atom ground-state coherence in our now on-going NSC project. It is the first time to our knowledge realizing the comb-CPT experiment and a 5-Hz linewidth CPT signal was observed! However, very puzzled phenomenon of non-pressure shift was kept unresolved. This issue is important for the next generation CPT-clock. We need to perform the CW-CPT as for the comparison of the comb-CPT in order to clarify the insensitivity of pressure shift, which might be caused by a new physical reason . II. Absolute frequency of cesium atom two-photon transitions and portable comb laser The success of the aforementioned part I will lead to a development of portable comb laser, which revolutionizes the applications of femtosecond laser. To realize the idea of portable comb laser, two more things have to be performed: one is that the absolute frequency of reference lasers (133Cs 6S-8S;6S-6D hyperfine transition stabilized diode lasers) should be determined; the other is that pump laser should be fiber laser based. III. Development of multi-heterodyne comb laser spectroscopy Based on the success of Part II, we are aiming at bringing our laser to the laboratory of Dr. Yen-Chu Hsu in the institute of atomic and molecular science of Academia Sinica for rapidly resolving the spectroscopy of C3 molecule to demonstrate the wide-band and high-resolution spectra in UV region. Before this challenging task, we will, in this proposal, try to resolve the spectra of iodine molecule or cesium molecule or helium atom for obtaining enough experience of this novel dual comb spectroscopy. 研究期間:10008 ~ 10107
