小學的數學教育是奠定未來數學學習的關鍵,在學童的未來發展上扮演著極為重要的角色。本計畫的主要目的在結合數學專業與資訊專業,以目前盛行的3D 虛擬技術Second Life 為基礎打造一個新的數學學習環境,期望為小學的數學教學開啟新的風貌。Second Life 在教學上的應用已取得不少實證的經驗,但於數學教學的應用上仍未見發展。因此,本計畫一方面期望將現行的小學數學教材,融入Second Life 的場景中,讓數學課在虛擬教室中進行;另一方面,則將利用此虛擬實境的3D 特性,拍攝特殊單元的教學影片,使學童能更深刻理解或觀察到數學的概念與意義。本計畫之使用對象為國小五、六年級的國小學生,計畫預計將小學五、六年級數學課程各系列單元做成3D 虛擬數學教材與題庫,以虛擬環境輔助實體教學,並結合行動裝置,實現無所不在的學習。本計畫執行之第二年將進行系統實測及評估階段,將提供桃園縣二至三所國小於授課期間試用,初期將以100~150 人為試用對象,爾後進入商品化與大規模推廣期,使用人數將可達500 人以上。 Mathematical education in elementary school is important because it is fundamental in pupils’ future learning. The development of students’ academic ability is significantly influenced by their mathematical ability. This study tries to combine the professional of both information technology and mathematics for building a novel mathematical learning environment in Second Life. Second Life is a 3D virtual environment, which has been used in education for a period of time. While Second Life has got a lot of empirical results in education, the application in mathematical education is still lack of. Thus, this study will embed mathematical learning materials in the built virtual classrooms facilitating teaching as well as learning. On the other hand, we will film a video for some special lesson to help students realize the concept or meaning of mathematical material in text book. This study will focus on the fifth and sixth grade mathematics in the elementary school. Lesson plans and test bank for those learning units will also be developed. It is expected that teaching and learning will be carried out thoroughly in this virtual classroom. Moreover, combining Second Life with cloud computing and mobile devices, ubiquitous learning will be realized. In this way, teachers and students will not have to do learning in the classroom. This study will cooperate with elementary teachers and try to apply elementary math learning in Second Life. It is hoped that this study can create a new era for math learning. 研究期間:10008 ~ 10107
