    Title: 台東地區三維速度構造;Three-Dimensional Seismic Velocity Structure of the Taitung Area

    Abstract: 台灣東南部位於菲律賓海板塊與歐亞大陸板塊聚合的交界帶上,受到板塊間相互作用之影響,產生了許多複雜的構造,而台東地區成為了一個介於板塊隱沒和聚合的交界帶。本研究利用中央研究院地球科學研究所於台東地區所佈置的PANDAⅡ地震網,將各測站收到的走時資料,建立出台東地區之三維地下速度構造,並配合最新的磁力異常圖,探討磁力異常與速度構造的相關性,共得到以下結論: (1)中央山脈部分呈現相對速度高區,主要是因為屬於高密度的變質岩帶使得其速度較高;而縱谷在深部有一個高速的塊體存在,此塊體可能是先前隱沒的南中國海板塊的一部份,所以相較於相鄰的大陸性板塊,其速度相對來的大,(2)縱谷與海岸山脈部分是屬於相對低速度的區域,縱谷底下有一連續向東傾斜的速度低區,其主要是由於兩板塊聚合之後造成地殼較破碎,使得這區域呈現速度較低的狀態,(3)從磁力異常圖看出,在南橫附近呈現磁力高區,與前人研究中發現南橫火成岩的出露和本研究結果中的速度高區,位置不謀而合,或許說明了此火成岩並非只是地表發現的零星分布,而是屬於大範圍的分布,(4)台東地區主要有兩條線性的地震帶,一條呈現北北東走向,與地質構造走向平行;另外一條幾乎呈南北向,其垂直向剖面中看出一個向東傾斜彎曲面的地震分布特性,說明了兩板塊聚合面的形貌。 The southeastern Taiwan area is tectonically of interest, because of the oblique collision between the Eurasian and Philippine Sea plates taking place there. In the south of Taiwan area, the oceanic crust of the South China sea plate subducts eastward beneath the Philippine Sea plate along the Manila Trench south of 20°N. This convergent tectonics results in a well-defined Wadati-Banioff zone that dips to the east to a depth of more than 200km. This east-dipping seismic zone extends northward to southeastern Taiwan (to at least 22.5°N) but becomes unclear north of 23°N. The transition of the boundary between subduction and collision may exist at 23°N. A high-resolution seismic array experiment using the second-generation of Portable Array for Numerical Data Acquisition (PANDAⅡ) array was deployed in the Taitung area, Taiwan from September 1995 to July 1996. Using travel time data from local earthquakes to obtain a three-dimensional seismic velocity structure for getting better understanding of the structure beneath Taitung area. Preliminary result of the velocity structure and their geological significance will be presented.
