    Title: X-射線對直接甲醇燃料電池中鉑電極的研究;Probing the Structures of Pt Nanoparticles in Direct Methanol Fuel Cells

    Abstract: 本計畫的主旨在利用X-射線技術,來研究鉑合金奈米粒子的大小、分布狀況、及其內部原子堆積方式。近年來由於奈米材料在工業上的應用及其獨特的化學活性,它已經獲得工業及學術界的研究興趣例如鉑合金奈米粒子可用於催化氧氣的還原、氫氣的氧化等,在燃料電池運作上重要的反應,但由於奈米粒子結構的複雜性及不均勻等特性,我們必須發展出不同的分析方法已獲得重要的資訊。目前我已順利將本人由德國攜帶來台的X-射線機器主裝測試完成,並已和李光華實驗室合作獲得初步的研究結果,本人將繼續和中央大學的研究組群進行合作以開拓新的研究領域。例如我將和諸伯仁、姚學麟等實驗室共同研究燃料電池中的陰陽極材料以電化學活性。 ; This proposal states my research focuses in the next two years at the national central university. I have used x-ray diffraction methods to quantify the dimension, dispersion, and the crystal structure of nanoparticles, which are of great interests in the development of modern fuel cells. The x-ray equipment I brought from Germany is now working well and already generated some interesting results of the crystal structures of PtRu alloy particles, PtHg alloys produced in the process of electrodeposition of Hg etc. The artificial Pt alloyed materials have shown promising catalytic activities toward a number of important chemical or electrochemical processes in the operation of fuel cell, including the reduction of oxygen molecules to water, the oxidation of hydrogen and methanol. I will utilize X-ray methods to do in situ measurements on the Pt alloyed particles, investigating how the crystal structures of nanoparticles vary as they react with intentionally dosed gaseous molecules such as oxygen and carbon monoxide. This tactics is can shed insight into chemical reactions occurring at heterogeneous catalysts. Meanwhile, I will collaborate with a number of research groups in the National Central University to explore a wide range of research interests. ; 研究期間 9708 ~ 9807
