本論文主要是探討含雙金屬中心之無機液晶材料設計與物性,並利用IR、熱差掃瞄卡計(DSC)、偏光顯微鏡、powder X-ray及單晶X-ray等儀器,觀察其液晶相變化與其分子排列情形。此論文分為兩系列之合成與研究;系列一為合成出2-hydroxy-4-alkoxyl-N-(2-hydroxy -3,4-di alkoxybenzylidene) anilines與金屬Cu、Ni、Zn及VO進行錯合,形成無機液晶錯合物。Cu、Ni與Zn錯合物是形成雙金屬無機液晶,其液晶相為Dh;但VO錯合物則為單金屬無機液晶,其液晶相為SA。系列二為合成出3-Hydroxy-4-(((2-hydroxy-4-alkoxyphen yl)imino)methyl)phenyl-4-alkoxybenzoates與金屬Cu與Pd反應錯合,產生具有Sc相之雙金屬無機液晶材料分子,其結果與預期相同。 The synthsis, characterization and mesomorphic properties of copper (II), nickel (II), zinc (II), vanadyl (IV) and palladium (II) complexes derived from N-(2-hydroxy-4-alkoxy benzylidend)-2’-hydroxy-3’,4’-dialkoxy aniline were reported. The liquid crystalline behaviour of these bimetallic complexes was studied by DSC and polarized optical microscopy.The copper, nickel and zinc complexes exhibited columnar hexagonal (Dh) mesophases, however, vanadyl complexes showed smectic A phase and palladium complexes showed crystalline phase.
