Three thiophene-enriched BST compounds, diTT-BST (1), DBT-BST (2), and DDTT-BST (3) have have been designed and synthesized for organic thin film transistors (OTFTs). The Crystal structure of diTT-BST (1) shows that the S-S interaction between the thiophene-S and alkyl chain-S are the dominant stabilizing force governing the packing of the molecules. These materials were designed to study the effect of extended conjugation on the photochemical, photophysical, and electrochemical properties. All of these new semiconductor materials exhibit good stability under thermal conditions and their electron mobility analysis is now in under progress.
