    Abstract: 在這篇論文中,我們論述說在紅序列星系團巡天二號計畫(RCS2)的觀測資料中,怎麼快速地找尋我們有興趣的合併星系。此觀測計畫是由加法夏天文台(CFHT)執行的大面積巡天計畫,在三個波段(g', r', z')中進行觀測,預期最遠可看到紅移值約等於1的宇宙,主要目的是希望找出尚未被發現的星系團。星系團擁有較高的星系密度,星系與星系之間容易因為萬有引力而對彼此產生交互作用,這種影響在星系的演化史中佔有很重要的地位。在我們的研究中,為了要去尋找合併星系,我們修改了陳詩湧學長在2004年所寫的一個圖形辨識程式。到去年(2006年)下半年為止,我們下載了13塊天區,共422平方度的影像。在這些大量的影像中,經過程式的篩選後留下少部份的天體,接著我們在用肉眼去判斷這些天體中是否有我們要的合併星系。最後我們共找到超過一萬五千個合併星系。我們將這些合併星系的分佈與已知的阿貝爾星系團(Abell Cluster)目錄做比較,發現除了六個阿貝爾星系團(阿貝爾430號、阿貝爾2033號、阿貝爾2055號、阿貝爾2356號、阿貝爾2381號與阿貝爾2397號)外,多數無特別高密度分佈跡象。此外,我們發現另外九個分佈密度特別高的區域,這些區域有可能是尚未被發現的新星系團。 We search for merging galaxies in the Red Sequence Cluster Survey 2 (RCS2). The RCS2 is a large sky survey using the CFHT in three filters (g', r', z') to look for galaxy clusters out to z~1. In the dense regions of galaxy clusters, galaxies tend to interact or merge with nearby companies and thus affect the evolution of these sources. In this study, we modified a pattern recognition software originally developed by Tan (2004) to search for merging galaxies in the RCS data set. We find more than fifteen thousand merging galaxies in the 422 sq. degree of images available by the end of 2006. We also compare our results with Abell clusters. We do not find significant density enhancement of merging galaxies for most of Abell clusters except for six clusters: Abell 0430, Abell 2033, Abell 2055, Abell 2356, Abell 2381, and Abell 2397. Besides, we find another 9 regions with density enhancement of merging galaxies, supposed to be previously unknown galaxy clusters.
