    Abstract: 經改質的多孔性吸附介質因為對特定金屬具有優良的吸附性而常被運用於處理重金屬汙染之廢水,但是如何處理吸附完重金屬污染物的吸附劑是一項重要環境課題。金屬作為抗菌劑有安全性高、不易產生抗藥性、維持時間較久等優點,因此本研究希望利用吸附介質吸附的金屬所具備之抑菌能力,探討將其再利用作為抗菌劑的可行性。
    本研究使用環境中常見的微生物,大腸桿菌及假單胞菌作為受測菌株對已吸附銀與汞的吸附介質C9-SH與C16-SH進行一系列的抑菌實驗,探討的因子包括:不同的載體的影響、吸附不同重金屬後的抑菌效果及其抑制機制及對不同微生物的抑制效果。
    實驗結果發現C9-SH與C16-SH吸附銀和汞後對大腸桿菌及假單胞菌皆有抑制性。其中C16-SH,有較大的孔洞及較多的官能基鍵結,所以能吸附較多的金屬,其抑菌效果較佳。比較吸附不同金屬,以汞的抑菌效果較佳,對兩種細菌皆有較好的抑制效果,相較於前者,吸附介質吸附銀後其抑菌效果並不佳。本研究之成果可提供吸附重金屬之吸附劑其後續處置或再利用的重要參考依據。
    The synthesis of functionalized mesoporous materials has the high affinity of adsorbing heavy metals successfully. Wastewater contained heavy metals can be treated by functionalized mesoporous materials. However, a challenge of practical application is how to treat mesoporous materials after adsorbing metals. Heavy metals can be a more effective and safer antibacterial agent and usually is difficult to generate drug-resistant bacteria in the environment. This study is to evaluate the feasibility of the functionalized mesoporous materials reused as bacteria inhibitor after adsorbing mercury and sliver ions.
    The functionalized mesoporous materials after adsorbing mercury and sliver ions, C9-SH and C16-SH were selected in this study. Typical Gram-negative bacteria in environment, Escherichia coli (BCRC 11848) and Pseudomonas stutzeri (ATCC 31258) were applied for the antibacterial experiment. The influence of functionalized mesoporous materials on the antibacterial ability of different bacterial species was researched. Possible mechanism of bacterial inhibitory also was discussed in this study.
    The experimental result demonstrated that C9-SH and C16-SH materials after adsorbed silver and mercury ions can inhibit the growth of E. coli and P. stutzeri. The C16-SH has the better the antibacterial ability because it has large pore-size and multi-binding function group for adsorbing more metal ions. Mesoporous material adsorbed mercury ions can have a better antibacterial effect for both bacterial species, comparing to the same material adsorbed silver ions. This study provides the alternatives of reuse for mesoporous materials after adsorbed heavy metals in the wastewater treatment.
