研究期間:10308~10407;Bulk metallic glass (BMG) possess plenty good engineering properties such as high fracture strength, high hardness, relative high impact fracture energy, high elastic strain, and excellent corrosion resistance for Zr-based metallic glass. In parallel, Zr-based BMG is found to have the most potential for commercialization among these BMGs. In this study, we plan to select the Zr-base and ZrCu-base BMGs (Zr53Cu29.5Ni9Al8Si0.5 and Zr42Cu41.5Al8Ag8Si0.5) with high glass forming ability which was pre-studied in our previous research as the base alloy. In the 1st year, one set of arc-melting and vacuum suction-aided tilt casting system will be designed and set up to fabricate the high quality BMG plates. The microstructure, mechanical properties, and thermal properties of these BMG plates will be characterized. In addition, these BMG plates and assembled targets will be provided to the other subproject. In the 2nd year, major work emphasized to develop a self-made Zr-base and ZrCu-base BMGs blade and medical instruments and characterized its microstructure, mechanical properties and blade sharpness index (BSI). The BMG plates and assembled 3 inches target will be provided to other subprojects for investigate the antibacterial properties. In parallel, the evaluation of thermoplastic ability of the Zr-base and ZrCu-base BMGs will be conducted in this year. For the 3rd year, a Ni-free Ti-base (Ti-Cu-Al-Nb-Si) BMG will be developed and characterized. One medical micro device (cross-section < 1 mm) will be selected as the goal to study the precision thermoplastic forming process. The mechanical properties, sharpness, and wear resistance of these medical devices will be evaluated for establishing the process window of precision thermoplastic forming. In combination with the other 3 subprojects, we hope to promote the series of Zr-base and Ti-base BMG on the application of medical tool.
