摘要: 研究期間:10208~10307;Interactions among biomolecules such as genes, proteins and metabolites form a complex network consisting of nested feedback and feedforward loops. Comprehension of the behavior of a whole biological system through dynamics of the interacting parts in isolation has been regarded as less successful. Approaches of systems biology aim to address the complexity issue by integrating functional knowledge from genome-scale experimental data and mathematic models with mutl-level dynamic equations. Inflammation is an evolutionarily conserved innate immune response of higher organisms to microbes or injuries. Acute inflammation resolves inflection and promotes wound healing. Unresolved inflammation due to persistent infection or dysfunctional immunity undermines healing, leading to chronic inflammation. Inflammatory response exhibits circadian rhythms in clinical observations. Stress, psychological or physiological, suppresses immunity. We propose to study effects of temporal stress profiles on inflammatory response through computational systems biology approaches.
