研究期間:10106~10205;PM bevel gears are the most widely used PM gears for the angular transmission on intersecting axes. Because of their high production threshold, the PM bevel gears have relative good profit. This project focuses on the fatigue test of PM bevel gears and exploration of the factors to fracture based on the inspection and test results. It is expected to improve the manufacturing process and consequently to enhance the product quality. The project consists of three main research works, A. Stress analysis of PM bevel gears: The tooth bending stress and surface contact stress will be calculated with aid of the software KissSoft. The calculated results are then compared with FEM. A measurement of the tooth bending stresses is then conducted to validate and modify the calculation methods. B. Manufacturing and inspection of PM bevel gears: The manufactured PM bevel gears are inspected on an universal bevel gear tester to measure the contact patterns under loading and assembly errors, and also are tested on a single flank tester to obtain the transmission errors. C. Fatigue test and fracture analysis: With a test fixture, three kinds of tests, namely static tooth fracture, surface fatigue and tooth bending fatigue test, are conducted on a back-to-back test bench. With analysis of the inspection and test results, the factors to fracture of PM bevel gears are thus analyzed to serve as the basis for improvement of manufacturing process.
