摘要: | 研究期間:10108~10207;The global warming and climate change problems force the construction industry to rethink their practices in response to the problems. For a long time the construction of infrastructure projects has been lack of concerns in sustainability during their planning, design, construction and operation phases of projects. Consequently, resource depletion, energy consumption, air and water pollution, wastes, and impacts to the bio-environment are resulted. Sustainable Construction is the adoption of materials and products in buildings and construction that will require less use of natural resources and increase the reusability of such materials and products for the same or similar use, thereby reducing waste as well. The objective of this research is to develop strategies as well as guidelines for using recycled materials in sustainable construction in response to the issue of global climate change. Roadway is chosen in this study, among other infrastructure types, for its broad coverage of areas and its larger share of a nation’s infrastructure development. Literature reviews on sustainable roadway construction is conducted in the first year. Critical aspects, concepts, techniques, and cases will be identified and analyzed. In the second year, local design codes and regulations for roadway construction will be reviewed. Questionnaire and expert meetings will be conducted for developing strategies for induction of sustainable roadway construction. An appraisal model for assessing the sustainability of different design and construction alternatives in using the recycled materials will be developed in the third year. As a result of this research, a design and construction guidelines for sustainable roadway construction, including the concepts, techniques, example cases, assessing methods, and guidelines to follow, will be produced. |
