    Abstract: 研究期間:10108~10212;The production of biogas from anaerobic digestion of organic wastes is an essential component in the global development of sustainable energy sources. However, conventional anaerobic digestion used to treat high water-content wastes, such as manure or sludge, often results in a considerable size of bioreactors, as well as problems with formation of wastewater that needs to be treated separately. Compared with this so-called “wet” digestion, advantages of newly innovated “dry” digestion systems include more compact reactors, high organic loading rates, little leachate, and better quality of solid residues for fertilizer application. Nonetheless, some operation- and process design-issues in association with dry (or solid) anaerobic digestion remain to be solved. For example, how to maintain suitable porosity in the system through co-digestion of bulky waste materials (like rice straws), how to well control bacterial community structure by re-circulating liquid residues and splashing them back to the system, etc. In this proposal, we will construct batch-mode solid anaerobic digestion systems to address these issues and in the meantime treat agricultural (containing mixtures of rice straws and manure) wastes to harvest biogas.
