    Title: 台灣中小企業 創業動機與創業績效關係之研究;Research of Entrepreneurial Motivation and Performance in Taiwan′s SME

    Abstract: 中小企業一直是台灣社會經濟發展的重要推手。每年有許多的企業在競爭劇烈的市場上成立並蓬勃發展,因此成功的中小企業創業家必有過人之處。本研究擬針對中小企業創業家的個人特質、企業創業特徵與創業動機的相關性進行實證分析,並探討其對創業績效的影響。

    本文研究目的如下:
    (1)探討中小企業創業家之創業動機:分析在不同的人口統計性質下,創業動機的差異。
    (2)探討中小企業創業家之創業動機對其創業績效之影響。

    研究對象為北部地區中小企業創業家為主。經由問卷設計與發放、蒐集資料,並利用統計方法進行研究分析。

    本研究結論如下:
    (1)由於大台北地區多元化發展的環境,創業機會相對多樣且豐富。因此創業家個人特質與企業創業特徵中會部份顯著的表現於創業動機項目上,進而對創業績效有正面的影響。
    (2)社會地位、金錢追求等個人名利動機已無法確保帶來較高滿意度的創業績效。相對於發自內心的自我成就、選擇自主、效法前人創業意圖以及關懷社會福祉,在面對市場的激烈競爭環境下,能顯著獲得較高的創業績效表現。
    ;Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) play vital roles in Taiwan′s economic growth rate. A lot of enterprises are established and flourishing in this competition market. So, I think the entrepreneurs must be extraordinary. This paper focuses on the relation between characteristics of entrepreneurs, features of start-ups and motivations of starting enterprises and does empirical analysis, probing into how they affect start-up effect.

    Purpose of the study:
    1. To probe into entrepreneurial motivations: analysing different start-up motivations under different statistics of population
    2. To probe into how the motivations affects start-up effect.

    The objects of study are mainly with the founders of northern Taiwan SMEs. Data were collected by designing and hair questionnaires, and analysed by statistics way.

    Conclusion as follows:
    1. According to the diversity of developing circumstance in northern Taiwan, entrepreneurial opportunities are much richer and more diverse. Therefore, characteristics of entrepreneurs and the features of start-ups are obviously showing on the items of entrepreneurial motivations, which affects start-up effect optimistically.
    2. Motivations of social status, pursuing money, and personal fame are not guaranteed higher satisfaction on entrepreneurial performance. In contract with from the bottom of entrepreneurs’ heart of self-achievement, selecting independent, entrepreneurial intentions, following the example of previous and caring about social welfare, we can see significantly higher entrepreneurial performance when enterprises face competition market.
