    Abstract: 大氣中的氣懸浮微粒通常為非球型的微粒。舉例來說,在South Eastern Aerosol and Visibility Study中發現粒徑在200~800 nm範圍的環境微粒約有10%為非球型的微粒(Dick et al. 1998)。另一方面,大部分利用火焰合成方法(flame synthesis)生成的工業奈米微粒(如:碳、二氧化鈦、矽和鋁等奈米微粒)皆為agglomerates 或是aggregates1。此外,經由高溫產生的環境氣懸微粒(例如柴油引擎的排放汙染物或是煤灰微粒)也都含有許多非球;Atmospheric aerosols are often non-spherical particles.
