    題名: 多元入學管道與在校成績之關係-以國立中央大學為例

    摘要: 自我國2002年正式實施多元入學方案後,台灣大學、政治大學、清華大學、交通大學等皆有相關研究討論此政策的實施成效。本研究以2007-2015年國立中央大學的校務資料,探討不同的入學管道對於學生在學期間的學業表現是否存在顯著差異,並與既有的研究成果進行比較,探討入學管道與在學成績間的關係是否存在校際差異。本研究使用普通最小平方法(Ordinary Least Squared)與分量迴歸(Quantile Regression)進行分析。實證結果顯示,女性的成績顯著高於男性,進一步以分量迴歸分析,發現不論在哪一分位下,女性的成績皆顯著高於男性,不過其效果有遞減現象。在不同入學管道方面,除第四學期的學期成績外,經由個人申請與繁星推薦入學之學生的學業成績顯著高於指考生。然而,控制總學測成績後,發現經由個人申請入學之學生的學業表現不顯著異於經由指考入學的學生;進一步分為學測各科成績後,發現社會、自然與英文其結果為正向顯著,學測成績可以解釋申請生成績優於指考生。最後,我們將學生畢業高中列入可量,並分為三類:第一類高中為2011-2014年經由指考或是個人申請進入台大就讀前15名高中畢業學校,第二類高中為2011-2015年間至少有一人經由指考或是個人申請進入台大就讀之高中扣除第一類高中,其餘學校列為第三類高中,普通最小平方法結果顯示,本校繁星優秀的學生是來自第一類以及第二類高中,也就是比較好的高中,進一步以分量迴歸檢視,發現除了第二學期外,第一類高中繁星生在第一學期、第三學期以及第四學期,其成績表現優異情況十分穩健。;Since the formal implementation of the multi-channel college entrance system in 2002, the National Taiwan University, the National Chengchi University, the National Tsing Hua University, and the National Chiao Tung University have conducted research to examine the effectiveness of the system. In this study, we use the 2007-2015 administrative data of the National Central University to explore the relationship between students’ academic performance and different entrance channels. Besides, we compare results with other existing researches to explore whether the relationship between entrance channels and academic achievement differs from school to school. In particular, both Ordinary Least Squares and Quantile Regression approaches are adopted to estimate the relationship. The results indicate that female students’ academic achievement is better than male students. Moreover, the Quantile Regression shows that female students outperform male students at every quantile. However, the gender gap in academic performance is decreasing in upper quantiles. In regard with multiple entrance channels, students admitted via individual applications and Star Program have better academic outcomes except for the fourth term. Yet, after controlling the overall General Scholastic Ability Test (GSAT) score, students who entering colleges via individual applications are not significantly perform better than those who enrolled by taking subject tests. Moreover, the GSAT score can explain the difference of individual applicants and students by Star Program. Finally, types of high school are taken into consideration. We divided it into three types: type one is that within the top 15 high schools has been admitted into the National Taiwan University via individual-application or subject-test channels between 2011-2014;type two is that at least one student has been admitted into the National Taiwan University via individual-application or subject-test channels between 2011-2015;the remaining schools are type three. The results of the least squares method show that outstanding students by Star Program in our school come from type one and type two high school, that is, the better high school. Moreover, the Quantile Regression shows that students by Star Program who come from type one high school outstanding performance are robust besides the second term.
