;The purpose of this study was to explore the differences between precollege characteristics, college experiences, and learning outcomes between first-generation and non-first-generation college students. Using the results of Terenzini et al. (1996) and Feinstein et al. (2004) to explore the interrelationship between the first generation of college students, precollege characteristics, college experiences, and learning outcomes.
The subjects of the study were 7617 students from the National Central University in the 101-105 academic year. The statistical data were analyzed based on the background information and academic status of the student.
This study used Pearson correlation coefficient, Analysis of Variance, and Regression Analysis to analyze students and integrate the relationship between the first generation of college students, precollege characteristics, college experiences, and learning outcomes.
It was found that the first generation was significant in terms of precollege characteristics, college experiences, and learning outcomes. And this study combines two models of Terenzini et al. (1996) and Feinstein et al. (2004). The relevant research models are not significant except for the first generation and learning outcomes.
