    Title: 高空閃電的高速動態觀測;High Speed Motion Studies and Dynamics Analysis for Transient Luminous Events

    Abstract: 台灣地區觀測高空閃電已有20年的歷史,我們使用低光度的攝影機已經拍攝到的高空閃電,包含紅色精靈、精靈暈盤、淘氣精靈以及巨大噴流。另外我們也使用自製的光譜儀記錄到紅色精靈的光譜,雖然每年記錄到的紅色精靈為數不少,我們都是使用30fps的攝影機紀錄到最高時間解析度只到16.7毫秒,我們希望能購置一台高速攝影機,能夠對高空閃電的高時間解析度的動態變化,同時去探討相關的物理問題。 過去我們使用地面的觀測資料以及福衛二號的科學資料,獲得不少高空閃電的科學成果,希望基於這樣的基礎,持續記錄台灣附近的高空閃電,不僅為台灣相關領域的研究,同時也能夠提供大眾第一手的科學資料。 ;The ground campaign of transient luminous events (TLEs) in Taiwan has been conducted nearly twenty years. Many scientific findings has been achieved. In recently five years, we recorded a lot of TLEs in Taiwan ground campaign with low-light-level CCD. Besides, using our designed spectrograph, the sprite spectrum have been recorded and analyzed. However, the time resolution of TLEs in the past observation is only as highest as 16.7 ms, which is much greater than submillimeter second dynamics of TLE event. The transient luminous events (including sprites, halos, elves and gigantic jet) nearby the Taiwan region has been observed but nor for high time resolution camera. We are planning to use a high speed camera to resolve the temporal dynamics of transient luminous events in submillimeter second time resolution. The recorded images with high time resolution can be used to the detailed dynamics of sprite or gigantic jet with submillimeter second time resolution. The expected results not only boost the research of transient luminous events but also provide the first hand video about transient luminous events.
