Abstract:	科技部自然科學及永續研究發展司現有十個學門，包括數學、統計、物理、化學、地科、大氣、海洋、永續發展、防災科技及空間資訊學門，每一學門由一至二位學者擔任學門召集人。學門召集人之職掌為(1)協助專題研究計畫及研究獎勵申請案之學術審查; (2)出席國際會議、邀請海外學人來台灣演講與短期科學技術指導、及延攬研究人才等申請案之審查；(3) 出席學門召集人會議，協助國科會相關業務之推展；以及(4)其他學門相關業務之規劃與推動。地球科學學門－地球物理部分，未來之推動將涵蓋應用地球物理學、地磁學和地電學、地震學、水文學、測地學及重力學、地球深部研究與地球動力學、和其他地球科學等。目前科技部持續推動執行「台灣地震科學研究中心(TEC)」之計畫，彙整國內外相關學者深入探討台灣地震之孕震、發震、震裂之科學過程，進而推動積極前瞻之研究例如台灣地震模型、即時地震學、慢地震、台灣造山運動、海底大地測量及台北盆地之強震放大效應等。預期目標在持續深化臺灣地區地震研究，開展新的研究領域，落實研究成果，以作為國土規劃、經建發展之重要參考資料，並逐步解決台灣地震防震減災問題。此全國性的地震科學研究中心，並可以有效地與國外重要地震研究單位合作，包括美國南加州地震中心（SCEC）、日本海洋研究中心（JAMESTEC）、東京大學地震研究中心（ERI）及國外重要地震研究單位和大學等，進行密切合作交流，以快速提升科學研究進度，達到最佳成果及效益。本計畫主要任務即由學門召集人召開相關審議會，審查學門各類申請案，規劃學門重點，進行協調整合工作，並聯繫和推展國際合作研究，彙整研究成果。 ;This project aims to promote the scientific vision and program in Geophysics session of the Department of Natural Sciences and Sustainable Development, Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST). The proposal review process with a fair and open manner has been the key to this mission. To execute this project would also bring the connections among projects and encourage the international collaboration. In addition to the scientific programs, this project also provokes a virtual center named Taiwan Earthquake Research Center (TEC) to provide a platform for data archives and sharing, and to bring highlights to team work in an integration aspect to give the consensus in research for seismic hazard mitigation. The TEC as the members from various Universities and Institution would play a role as other international organizations, namely Southern California Earthquake Center (SCEC), National Institute of Earth Science and Disaster Prevention (NIED), Japan, and others. The PI of this project as the leading person for proposal review process, bring the connections among projects, and encourage the international collaboration in Geophysics session of the Department of Natural Sciences and Sustainable Development, MOST.
