    Abstract: 近幾年來,網際網路(Internet)的規模和用戶數目迅速發展,如何提高網路服務的質與量是目前人們最關心的問題。由於傳統網際網路沒有服務品質(Quality of Service,QoS)的概念,不能保證有足夠的總處理能力(Throughput)和符合要求的傳送延遲,只能夠以最大的努力(Best-effort)來滿足用戶的需要,所以如果不採用新的方法改善目前的網路環境,便無法大規模發展新的服務技術。 因此本論文將利用目前IETF還在制定規格的新的核心技術(綜合應用ATM網路核心的交換技術和IP網路邊緣的IP路由(Routing)技術各自優點的「多協定標籤交換」(MultiProtocol Label Switching,MPLS)),提出一個on-line的繞路方法,使得網路繞路因為考慮到負載平衡(Load balance)的觀念,改善傳統以目的地為導向的繞路方式,能充分利用網路的資源,增加網路的使用率,同時也因為MPLS流量工程(Traffic Engineering,TE)的應用,網路的Rerouting表現將比傳統方式更佳。 MPLS systems will be used in core networks where systemdowntime must be kept to an absolute minimum. Many MPLSLSRs may, therefore, exploit Fault Tolerant (FT) hardwareor software to provide high availability of the corenetworks.The details of how FT is achieved for the variouscomponents of an FT LSR, including LDP, CR-LDP, theswitching hardware and TCP, are implementation specific.This document identifies issues in the CR-LDPspecification [2] and the LDP specification [4] that makeit difficult to implement an FT LSR using the current LDPand CR-LDP protocols, and proposes enhancements to theLDP specification to ease such FT LSR implementations.The extensions described here are equally applicable toCR-LDP.
