此計畫的主要目的是合成新的金屬硼酸鹽非線性光學晶體材料,金屬包括鹼金屬、鹼土金屬、與含有ns2孤電子對的主族元素。合成的方法為高溫高壓水熱法與熔鹽法,前者的溫度與壓力範圍是500-600 °C與1000-1500 bar。鑑定晶體結構的方法主要是單晶與粉末X光繞射,與一些光譜的輔助及熱分析。除了量測粉末樣本的二次倍頻訊號外,我們也利用頂部籽晶法,選擇合適的熔鹽,在高溫下生長公分級大晶體,並與其他單位合作深入研究其光學性質。 ;The object of this research proposal is the synthesis of new metal borates for nonlinear optical applications. The metals include alkali, alkaline earth metals, and main group metal cations with stereochemically active lone pair electrons. The synthetic methods include high-temperature, high-pressure hydrothermal synthesis at 500-600 °C and 1000-1500 bar and flux synthesis at high temperature. The characterization techniques include single-crystal and powder X-ray diffraction combined with spectroscopic methods and thermal analysis. In addition to the measurements of second harmonic generation on powder samples, we also grow large crystals with dimensions in centimeters using top seeded solution growth method in a suitable flux at high temperature. Detailed optical properties will be studied in cooperation with other research groups.
