    Abstract: 論 文 摘 要 目前市場上手機可分為兩大區塊,分別為具有完整解決方案的通訊晶片組稱之為feature phone,一般以ARM7加上DSP為核心的微處理器(MCU),屬於中低價位手機。另一類別為作業系統如微軟、Linux等稱之智慧型手機smart phone,屬於高價位機種。在智慧型手機的架構中主要是以一顆應用處理器(Application Processor或稱AP)為主要微控制器,控制著其他週邊裝置例如藍芽(Bluetooth)、無線網路(802.11g)、全球衛星定位系統(GPS)以及通訊GSM/GPRS,3G系統晶片。系統複雜度相對提高許多,一般業界會將GSM/GPRS晶片使用已量產的模組或是自行設計模組使用以縮短研發時程,本論文的目的即設計此GSM/GPRS模組,並透過與其他廠商模組之性能測試比較,來證實其為最佳化模組。此模組完成後不僅後續機種也能夠延用此架構,模組更可以採取宣告方式進行認證更對於縮減成本有不少的幫助。 本篇論文以設計GSM/GPRS模組,具有GSM850、GSM900、DCS1800、PCS1900MHz四個頻帶一般稱為四頻,並且能夠利用通用資料匯流排(Universal Asynchronous Receive & Transmit或稱UART)與PC電腦系統上超級終端機(Hyper terminal)做溝通模擬手機系統端(host system),分析其主要的數據符合ETSI的規範。 本模組第一章介紹GSM/GPRS系統概述,GSM/GPRS訊號處理、硬體架構及智慧型手機架構。第二章介紹GSM/GPRS模組之硬體元件包括射頻,基頻及通訊介面說明。第三章著重說明GSM/GPRS模組設計與量測方法。此外在手持式行動裝置中,使用者所在乎的除了收訊品質之外,待機時間與通話品質的好壞,影響消費者購買此產品意願之因素。故第四章以整合GSM/GPRS模組性能測試與噪音分析為探討內容。音源分析並符合ETSI GSM30.07規範中所需認證的項目,使通話品質在最佳的環境。最後第五章在以設計模組實驗結果做總結,以達成此篇論文的目的。 Abstract The market for cellphone is divided into 2 blocks. One provides the total solution communication chipsets called feature phone, and this kind of solutions is almost based on ARM7 with DSP core as MCU kernel. This belongs to the middle and low cost cellphone market. The other one uses the operation system such as MS mobile, Linux, and etc. This is called smart phone. This belongs to the high-price market cellphone. The structure for smartphone is based on one application processor as main chipset .This chipset control the peripheral such as Bluetooth, WIFI (802.11g), GPS and communication GSM/GPRS, 3G system chipset. This is why it increases the complexity, so the normal vendor will adopt the chipset which is mass-production or design by itself to decrease the development schedule. The purpose of this paper is to develop the module and compare the module performance with other vendor .This is to prove the performance for optimal solution. When we finish the first module then incoming version can continue adopting the module too. The module is helpful for speeding up to certify for cost down issue The paper is developing for GSM/GSRS module ,including GSM850、GSM900,DCS1800 and PCS1900MHz, this is called as Quad-band using the Universal Asynchronous Receive & Transmit (or called UART) to connect (Hyper terminal)on PC systems simulating cellphone host system. The analysis details based on the ETSI spec. The 1st chapter introduce GSM/GPRS system concept,GSM/GPRS information analysis, hardware structure and smart phone architecture. The second chapter introduces GSM/GPRS hardware module including RF, Baseband and communication interface. The third chapter explains GSM/GPRS module design and analysis method. Not only for handheld devices users care about RF signals quality, but also for indurate time, talking quality,these will effect the consumer to buy the product or not. So the fourth chapter integrates GSM/GPRS module performance testing and noise analysis as the main content. Voice source analysis is following the spec item for ETSI GSM30.07. This lets talking quality as in the best environment. The final chapter summarizes the experiment data for designing module as the final conclusion to meet the purpose of this paper.
