Abstract:	樣態趨避的極值組合學是離散數學中重要的分支，它關心一個大的樣態在不包含一個小的樣態前提下，可以緊密到什麼程度。除了和其他離散領域如圖論、排列、與組合幾何密切相關之外，它也已被應用在實際問題上，例如機器人探索及一些資料結構的效能分析。雖然已有數十年的歷史，人類對很多當中的問題的了解仍然非常有限。本計畫希望嘗試從各種角度切入許多未解的難題，提升我們對這方面各種問題的掌握與瞭解，進而帶來更多現實生活中的應用。
