Abstract:	最近，隨著電信、電視傳播以及網路服務的發展，數位家庭變得愈來愈重要。數化家庭的概念重點在家電的數位化以及透過網路整合所有數化產品。並且強調要讓所有家庭的成員可以透過這些家電以及個人的電子產品以達到更方便的生活和安全，甚至能夠隨時隨地享受更好的娛樂體驗。現今，數位家庭的應用大致上是基於娛樂為先鋒，並且圍繞著電視的產品。隨著產品的數位化以及數位內容的成長，我們須要一個特殊的裝置來與其它的數位產品傳輸與溝通。這個特殊的裝置就是我們所謂的多媒體中心。而這個多媒體中心的主要功能在於以它為中心並且能夠與其它的消費性電子裝置或數位化產品相連。我們也可以透過這個多媒體中心做一般性的娛樂，例如錄製電視節目、看DVD、播放、錄置且修改影片、觀賞圖片、聆聽音樂以及玩電子遊戲。我們也可以透過它的輸出裝置，如usb、1394、RJ45去和其它的數位化裝罝做儲存和連接。除此之外，它還有自己的儲存媒介可以儲存大量的數位內容，以及統一管理。所以，多媒體中心的需求可以說愈來愈多，並且也在現今的數位家庭裡伴演著重要的角色。這篇論文是多媒體中心計畫的一部份，我們將介紹我們的計畫-在Intel OloRiver平台上實作多媒體中心。 With the development of telecommunication、television broadcast and internet service, digital home is gaining more and more importance in recent days. The concept of digital home is focus on digitalization of appliances and integration of all digital electronic products through the internet. It emphasizes that the members of the family use various home appliances and personal electronic equipment to make life more convenience and safety and even enjoy better entertainment experience through digital and network technologies in any place, at anytime. Now the application of digital home is based on entertainment as a pilot and around the periphery of the television. And with digital audio-visual products and digital content growth, we need a specific device to access and transmit with others. The device that we so-called is media center. The main function of media center is centralizing and connecting other consumer electronics devices or digital products. We can do general entertainment by the media center, such as TV recording and playback, DVD playing, video playback, recording and editing, picture view, music listening and games playing. And we can transmit and access digital content to other digital devices by its I/O, such as USB, 1394, RJ45, and network device. In addition, it has its own storage media can store a large quantity of digital contents, and unified management. Therefore, the requirement of the media center is more and more and it plays an important role in the digital home now. This paper is a part of the media center project, and we will introduce our work that implement a media center system over Intel OloRiver.
