In this work, the steady-state behaviors of astructure with a nonlinear actuator subjected to linear feedback control are investigated analytically. We apply the methods of harmonic balance. Floquet theory, and Melnikov theory with the assistance of numerical computations to plot the global bifurcation diagram in parametric space. Attention is focused on the effects of feedback gains on qualitative behaviors such as the stability of steady-state solutions, chaotic vibrations, fractal basin boundaries, jump phenomena, and the control effectiveness in terms of amplitude modulation.
