Sample preparation and structural characterization of the supported alloy clusters will be performed under ultrahigh vacuum (UHV) using a variety of surface probe techniques. The reactions, including gas-phase and electrocatalytic processes, will be probed by synchrotron radiation photoemission spectroscopy (PES), temperature-programmed desorption (TPD) and cyclic voltametry (CV). These reactions are studied as functions of Au-Pt compositions and structures with the goal of finding the optimal combination and the cause leading to such reactivity. 研究期間:9608 ~ 9707
