「八景」的主題已為傳統中國藝術史中重要的研究子題，而對於晚近才寫入清代歷史的台灣是如何與傳統中的「八景」主題產生關聯？本論文由清代與日據時期的〈臺灣八景〉說明其形成與演變的過程。 第一章說明清代的〈臺灣八景〉，由纂修方志的背景解釋八景的產生因素與背景，並由此推衍出八景的政治意義與文化觀。第二章說明日據時期〈臺灣新八景〉的產生，由於此時期台灣為日本所統治，文化上受其影響，故首先介紹〈日本新八景〉的產生因素與背景，並對照當時重要的風景論述。接著介紹〈臺灣新八景〉的產生因素與背景，並藉由與〈日本新八景〉的比較，彰顯出其作為殖民地風景與母國文化上的相似與相異之處。第三章探討與〈臺灣新八景〉相關的風景圖像，透過繪葉書（風景明信片）、雜誌封面設計、展覽作品、博覽會陳設等等呈現方式，呈現新八景圖像的流傳與多元，由此建構出台灣作為日本殖民地的圖像意涵。 本文試圖透過清代與日據時期〈臺灣新八景〉的比較，說明台灣由傳統進入現代化的過程，並由此說明其中文化與政治的互動。 「Eight Views」has been the important issue in the field of Chinese art history for a long time. Taiwan as the new territory in Chi-Dynasty, 「Eight Views」in which way to be related with the tradition？My thesis try to discuss about the 「Taiwan Eight Views」of Chi-Dynasty and Japan Occupied Period. Through the two hundred years, explain the way it forms and changes. Chapter one is to discuss about the 「Taiwan Eight Views」 of Chi-Dynasty, Due to the records written in the official documents, we see 「Taiwan Eight Views」 has its special meanings on politics and culture. Chapter two is to discuss about the「Taiwan New Eight Views」of Japan Occupied Period. Because of this period occupied by Japan, Japanese culture deeply influences Taiwan. In this background, first of all, introduce the「Japan New Eight Views」and at that time some famous discourses of Japanese landscape. Then comes to 「Taiwan New Eight Views」,explain its meanings on culture and politics, also compare it with 「Japan New Eight Views」, try to look out the sameness and difference of them. Chapter Three’s contains the related images of 「Taiwan New Eight Views」.Through the postcards、designs of magazines、the art work of exhibitions、photoes of album on National Parks and etc., represent the images in all kinds of way and seems so popular. It figures out the way we look at the Taiwanese landscape in this period as the colonial image of Japan Empire. In the whole, the thesis try to compare the 「Taiwan Eight Views」 of Chi-Dynasty and Japan Occupied Period, the results will be read as the process of Taiwan from tradition to modernization, and the interaction of politics and culture.
