The integrated research consists of structural engineering, hydraulic engineering, geotechnical engineering, geophysical/inspection techniques, and hazard prevention information management fields allotted within six sub-projects. The research framework is composed of four main sections, including (1) Bridge flood resistant archives and decision system with basic and application performance, (2) Inspection techniques of geotechnical characteristics, (3) Quantified evaluation of flood resistant capacity on bridges, and (4) Enhancement technologies of flood resistance. The bridge flood resistant archives and decision system emphasizes on establishment of bridge fundamental information, hydrological and metrological information, and historic disaster information for developing a hazard potential assessment performance as an assistance on in-hazard and post-hazard decision. Inspection techniques of geotechnical characteristics targets at comprehensive identification on bridge foundations, geological, river bed, and scouring using geophysical inspections. Innovative mobile spherical scouring meters are applied to measure scouring depth and flood velocity around bridge sites during and after flood. The suggested localized scouring index in Taiwan is associated with geotechnical characteristics and scouring information. Quantified evaluation of flood resistant capacity on bridges is linking as a continuous numerical simulation chain initiating from one-dimensional and two-dimensional hydraulic computations, three-dimensional fluid-solid coupled simulation, to stability analysis on bridge foundations along sandy and gravely rivers. In addition, the numerical analysis can assess the scenario impacts induced by debris flows and drifting woods. Alert and critical state charts for bridge flood resistant capacity are action indices based on tri-parameters, scouring depth, representative velocity, and stage. Low-expenditure, robust energy-dissipated hydraulic works are introduced for efficiently and effectively eliminating scouring and preventing bridge piers in order to enhance flood resistance. This project contains several innovative ideas that help develop new numerical simulation and inspection techniques in bridge flood resistance. The outcomes of the project will largely enhance the technical level and Taiwan’s visibility on flood prevention technology field. 研究期間:10003 ~ 10007 |
