研究期間:10308~10407;This project includes three issues on the parallel imports. Firstly, the main difference between the parallel importers and the licensed distributors (or manufacturer) is that the former won’t provide service for the goods sold. Therefore, the service decision is usually regard as important strategies by the licensed distributors (or manufacturer) when facing the competition from the parallel importers. By the above observation, the first sub-project intends to study how the parallel imports affects the service strategies adopted by the licensed distributors (or manufacturer) and the social welfare. Secondly, some literature analyzed the optimal import tariff when the parallel imports emerge. However, these studies ignored the important role of the service strategy adopted by the licensed distributors (or manufacturer). Therefore, the second sub-project will investigate the importing country’s optimal tariffs that are imposed on the licensed goods and/or the parallel import goods when the service strategies are considered by the licensed distributors (or manufacturer). Finally, the third sub-project focus on the situation that there exists a potential brand entrant in the importing country. The entrance of the potential entrant will affect the parallel importers and the licensed distributors (or manufacturer) simultaneously. Besides, the parallel imports may affect the entrance of the potential entrant. I will investigate the interactions among the potential entrant, the parallel importers, and the licensed distributors (or manufacturer).
