研究期間:10208~10307;The experimental high energy physics group at National Central University (NCUHEP) has been in CMS since 1999. We successfully participated in the construction and commissioning of CMS Preshower detector, and have since become the leading group on the Detector Control System (DCS), Data Quality Monitoring (DQM) and calibration of the Preshower. Preshower was installed in early 2009. Since the startup of proton-proton collisions at LHC in the end of 2009, our main mission has moved from hardware oriented activities to physics analysis. Over the last three years, we have contributed to di-boson physics, the search of Higgs boson and new physics and several papers were already published. Seven group members, about 0.25% of CMS manpower, associated to this sub-proposal actively involve in physics analysis. CMS already published 200 papers and we contributed to 5 of them which is 2.5% and the fund we received from NSC is about 1% of CMS running cost. In this sub-proposal, we propose to work on (1) the search of Higgs boson in Z Y final state, (2) the measurement of quartic gauge boson couplings, (3) the search of excited lepton, (4) the maintenance and operation of Preshower and the improvement on energy resolution for electrons and photons with it, and (5) the upgrade of CMS silicon tracker. We expect to obtain more important physics results and contribute to detector work in CMS based on the support from NSC.
