Abstract: 研究期間:10108~10207;Recently, according to the WHO report, the average life span in developing and developed countries increases, which incurs the needs to build up ubiquitous health care systems for elders to offer protection and to improve the quality of life. On the other hand, due to the advances in MEMS, VLSI and wireless communications, integration of sensors, ADC/DAC, micro-processor, modulator/demodulator in a small device becomes feasible. Hence, low-power wireless sensor network gradually plays an important role in long-term health care system and attracts much attention. In this project, we aim to design a wireless sensor network capable of localization and context awareness for elder health care. Some anchor nodes whose locations are known in advance are deployed inside the building. The received signal strength is then used for distance measurement for its low cost and low complexity. To reduce power consumption and to protect privacy, decentralized architecture and cooperative algorithm are adopted to estimate the location of the target elders iteratively. Furthermore, an intelligent home care system must take into account the user’s context so that the caregiver can make a correct decision or diagnosis. The kinematic sensors attached to bodies together with the environment sensors enable the modeling of human activities, such as rehabilitation, health/fitness monitoring and geriatric care. To ensure transmission of necessary sensor data that are representative and have generality, compressed sensing techniques will be used. In addition, the cognitive radio and cooperative communication techniques will be adopted in wireless communication module. Both help to suppress interference, to keep reliable wireless links and to share system resources. Finally, the localization module, compressed sensing module, cognitive and cooperative communication module will be implemented and integrated by hardware. We also aim to provide meaningful physiological parameters by analyzing the sensor signals to construct users’ context to complete the design of a ubiquitous health care sensor network.
