zh_TW
We examine how aspects of IT leveraging competence (i.e., the effective uses of project and resource management systems, organizational memory systems, and cooperative work systems) and social capital influence performance (i.e., product effectiveness and process efficiency) by coordination capability and absorptive capacity under uncertainty and complexity in new product development (NPD). Using a sample of 242 research and development project teams in electrical manufacturers of Taiwan, we find support for our hypotheses. Findings reveal why NPD teams have difficulty achieving high levels of performance and why these teams vary in their ability to create value from their IT leveraging competence and social capital.en_US
