dc.description.abstractLink Aggregation (LAG)功能在Switch市場是個成熟技術,定義在IEEE 802.3ad,是將N個實體埠匯聚在一起,並且形成一個邏輯埠,可增加封包傳送及接收之間的可靠性並有助於增加網路頻寬,支援負載平衡的功能,因實際上網路傳送及接收的網路封包吞吐率速度是不規則現象,若網路傳輸速率是在較低的情況,在Link Aggregation功能開啟狀態會有浪費電量的情形發生,本論文探討使用雙門檻判斷機制去控制開啟Link Aggregation功能時機,助於降低電源上的消耗。 本論文是將Link Aggregation功能透過軟體方式進而開發NIC (Network Interface Controller)產品上,實驗NIC支援Link Aggregation功能測試網路頻寬提升以及利用雙門檻方法設計動態控制Link Aggregation開啟及關閉機制,並且探討在切換過程會使網路封包掉落的問題,實驗結果得知若有效的控制開啟及關閉Link Aggregation功能可降低電源上的消耗,要解決網路封包掉落的問題可透過雙門檻機制並定義開啟及關閉Link Aggregation時機可有助於降低網路封包掉落的現象發生。zh_TW
dc.description.abstractLink Aggregation is a mature technology in the Switch market. It is defined in IEEE 802.3ad. It forms N physical ports into a logical port, which increases the reliability between packet transmission and reception, increases the network bandwidth, and supports load balance. Because the network packet throughput is actually irregular in the network transmission and reception, the Link Aggregation function will waste more power consumption when the network transmission rate is low. This paper explores the use of a double-threshold judgment mechanism to control the timing of the Link Aggregation function, helping to reduce power consumption. This thesis is using the Link Aggregation function through the software mode to develop the NIC (Network Interface Controller) product. The experiment is testing NIC supports the Link Aggregation function and network bandwidth enhancement and the dynamic control Link Aggregation opening and closing mechanism by using the double threshold method. In the process of switching link aggregation function, the network packet will be dropped. The experimental results show that if the effective control of the Link Aggregation function can reduce the power consumption. To solve the problem of network packet drop, we can use the double threshold mechanism and define the timing of opening and closing the Link Aggregation. It can help reduce the occurrence of network packet drops.en_US
