dc.description.abstract | Electronic grade chemical is a crucial material in many electronic industries such as semi-conductor, flat panel display (FPD), light-emitting diode (LED), solar energy, and battery. The final products from electronic industries such as smart phone, notebook, television, and e-paper, make our life more convenient, or even become irreplaceable necessities. Electronic grade chemicals have to be filled in a clean room. Due to low metal ion content and high purity, it is a necessary material for the processes of patenting circuits in high-tech electronic factories. Generally, the processes include exposure, developing, etching, and stripping. These chemical materials have been dominated by Japanese, American, and European companies. After imported to Taiwan, these materials are reloaded or directly shipped to users’ supply systems. This thesis takes Company P as the case, which is the employer of the researcher, to analyze the FPD industrial environment by the five-force analysis and the evolution of the case company’s business model. The competitive strategy of the company is analyzed with SWOT analysis to figure out the key factors for Company P to succeed in this highly competitive business environment.
The results of the analysis provide the following suggestions to Company P and other electronic grade chemical suppliers:
1. Company P should keep improving quality, so they could extend their business from the FPD industry to the semi-conductor industry.
2. Product agency: With its well-known Japanese stockholder, Company P could be a material agency for LTPS and OLED industries. It will help the company getting ahead of these two new developing industries.
3. Cross-industrial integration: Company P has successful cooperating experience with a waste treatment partner in the FPD industry, and it can copy the business model to the semi-conductor industries; meanwhile, it will also help Company P to extend and integrate the market shares in the electronic chemical industries.
4. Business alliance in the same application: Ally with companies that are suppliers for the upstream processes and furthermore establish industrial standards of process parameter with the partners together. It will reduce the risk of being replaced by competitors. | en_US |
