dc.description.abstract | Enterprises may only survive the fierce market competition with enhancing their core competitiveness to constantly make them profitable. Especially during the period of economic recession, the enterprises should not have the sunset industry in their mind, but with the active approach to boost their strength of Innovation and Improvement. To gain the competitive edge and become the irreplaceable position of enterprises in the market, enterprises need to improve and strengthen the enterprise constitution of management to improve quality, reduce cost/waste/inventory/delivery lead-time and working hours as well as optimize operation and train workers with multi-skills.
In order to enhancing the management constitution in the companies, many enterprises have begun to adopt systematic systems, such as TPM (Total Productive Management), TQM (Total Quality Management), TLM (Total Lean Management), etc. to drive continuous improvement on production efficiency, reducing the cost/equipment stop losses and multi-skilling program, ensuring the production operations and the flexible response to business contingence, increasing the company′s responsiveness in the market.
This study has been carried out by using the case, called Company T, where has been implementing TPM improvement system for many years, to explore the impact of continuous improvement activities on Plant Performance, Implementation logic, Organizational operations, Operational objectives with PDCA management cycle and the successful factors. The conclusions are as follows:
(1) Full participation of all levels of the company
(2) Company standardization system and discipline
(3) “Timely” reward mechanism
