dc.description.abstract | Hakka is whom the ethnic group of Atayal interacts with most in Tai′an Township of Miaoli County. Due to the smaller population of Atayal, their interaction within society, economy and culture is highly affected by Hakka, especially in the language aspects. Since the Atayal have lived in the Hakka surroundings for a long time, the factors that influence their daily language will be the main focus of this paper.
Subjects are the Atayal who speaks Xi Ien Hakka dialect in Tai’an Township as long-term residents. The research examines changes in language structure and how their vocabulary based on Phonology perspectives is influenced by their first language. This paper consists of five chapters. The first chapter, Abstract, identifies the research’s motivation, purposes, methods and steps, literature reviews, and the background information such as the history and geographic location of dialect investigation points and participants introduction. The second chapter, Sound Features of the Atayal Hakka, classifies corpus by phonetic system and analyzes the different sections from Xi Zhuyin Hakka. The third chapter, Atayal Hakka Vocabulary Feature, makes observations on wording under mixed ethnicities and cultures. The fourth chapter, Atayal Hakka Grammar Feature, analyzes the similarities and differences between Xi Ien Hakka and Atayal Hakka according to syntactic representation. The fifth chapter, Conclusion, observes how speakers from the two language families make adjustments to their language centers and identifies the differences between representation in phonetics, vocabulary and grammar in these two ethnic Hakka and Xi Ien Hakka from a language acquisition’s point of view. | en_US |
